Chiropractic

Today, we had a guest speaker talking to us about healthy living. He taught us how to "belly breathe" which is how you're supposed to be breathing. He went into great detail about how the nervous system works and how chiropractic adjustments can influence the way your body works.

It was quite interesting and we learnt many things.

Guest Speaker

Today we had a guest speaker called Martin Cook. He talked about Chiropractic stuff. It was very informative and we learnt a lot about Chiropractic stuff and health in general. He taught us how to breath through our diaphragm and to reguarly take a break and walk around when doing work, approximately every 45 minutes.

Supersize ME!

Just finished watching 'Supersize Me' today. It was quite interesting how much of an effect fast food had on Morgan's body. I didn't know the fast food was that unhealthy, but then again. . . he shouldn't have eaten it for 31 days straight.

But still... fast food's just unhealthy.

Today, we surveyed the class about their "usual" meals when they go to Maccas. From there, we found the total fats, kilojoules, sugars and carbohydrates of each meal. We hope to find the RDI (recommended daily intake) of nutrients for an adolescent and make a comparison.

Nick's Sub-Question

My sub-question is to interview fast food employees on a series of questions regarding obesity and its causes, other fast food companies and the company's products.

Jayson's Sub-Question

Hey Jonathan and Roger,

Good to see you guys have started breaking down your sub-questions.

I was thinking of having "What are the effects of fast food?" as my sub-question and will further break it down into "what are the effects on health and wellbeing?", "how much is too much?" and maybe something else regarding exercise.

Jonathan's Sub-Question

My sub-question is "What is the nutritional value of fast foods?"

I further broke this question down into "What is the nutritional value of McDonald food?", "What is the nutritional value of Subway food?" and "What is the nutritional value of KFC food?"

This method should show all the nutritional values for all three fast food stores.

Roger's Sub-Question

My sub-question is, "Are there any fast foods that are good for you?"

I have then further broken down this question into, "Are there any fast foods which already claim to be good for you?", "What are the recommended daily intakes (RDI's) of some of the ingredients in these fast foods?" and "How much of these ingredients are there in the fast foods, and how it compares with the RDI's."

Hopefully, this method will reveal any healthy fast foods, which would generally be the ones with low fat (especially the saturated and trans fats), low sugar, low kilojoules and low sodium.
